MIDNIGHT BLUES...A Poem by RoshanC

Moonlit night and deserted streets, 

Rusty path and silent breeze;

Hooting owls amid trodden feet,

Lonely hearts, warm yet freeze.

Teary eyes and trembling limbs,

A silent prayer in the lips;

Head held high towards the sky,

Wondering if someone hears my cries.

Glimpses of past and days of bliss,

Those holding hands and stolen kiss;

That stealing view across your window,

Those gestures with a gentle hiss.

Your rainbow skin under blazing skies,

Your rickety fingers, those glittering eyes;

Your gentle touch, the sublime smiles,

Your pestering and your somber cries.

Now you’ve gone and miles away,

Drifted apart, I’m fragile and astray;

Wish I could turn back time and say,

Make up your mind and together we’ll stay.
